The Amongst Ourselves meeting presented a further opportunity to give the Listooder young people a chance to get involved, and once again it did not disappoint. The meeting was led by Rebecca Hutton, who chose the choruses, brought the annoucements and kept everyone informed on what was happening throughout the evening.

Abigail Emerson presented a unique quiz idea, combining two classics (cotton-wool balls and dry cream crackers) into a single game. Several dry mouths, empty spoons and a whole lot of crumbs later, the piano-side of the hall was declared the winner!

Testimony - Ross Greer  (Listen)

Ross Greer, now in his fifth year as a Listooder attendee, explains that, although he was saved at a very young age, he often lacked assurance of his salvation. It was only when he began to get involved in serving the Lord in church and Scripture Union activities that he really began to grow in his knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through his testimony, Ross encouraged the other young people to keep their focus on Christ and on the Bible, seeking to live well for God in a sinful and challenging world.

Ready Always to Give an Answer - Samuel Jackson  (Listen)

Samuel Jackson, speaking for the first time, brought a challenge to the young people at Listooder. The world around us knows little of the Christ whom we serve. It knows little of the one who loved us and gave Himself for us. It is therefore, as in the words of 1 Peter 3:15, with meekness and with fear that we make ourselves ready. Not ready so that we can judge the unsaved, nor ready so that we can demonstrate how much better we are than they: ready to give a reason of the hope that lies within us. And what is that hope? It is the sure and certain knowledge that, despite our failings, despite our fallings and despite our shortcomings, we have redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ, an eternal pardon from all of our sin and an everlasting home in heaven.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear - 1 Peter 3:15
